Purpose of this privacy policy

This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data the British Civic Institute (“we“, “us“) collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.

Online business survey

We gather contact details for our online business survey using online tools, primarily LinkedIn. We process your data on the legal basis of our legitimate interests in conducting market research.

We use SurveyMonkey to send survey invitations via email and to collect and analyse survey responses. SurveyMonkey have the appropriate safeguards in place for transfer of BCI data to their data centres where required. Their Privacy Policy is available here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/mp/legal/privacy/  The recipients of our survey invitation emails can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ link in the footer of our emails.

Our surveys are conducted in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK GDPR, and Market Research Society Code of Conduct. The raw data collected from our surveys will be stored securely, with restricted access. Any information that is shared more widely will be anonymised, with data only shared in an aggregated format. We shall retain survey responses for a period of six years.
